The budding Jacob Rhame-Rhys Hoskins rivalry made its way down to the minor leagues this week.

On April 23, Rhame, a Mets reliever, buzzed two fastballs near the head of Hoskins of the Phillies, which prompted some talk of possible retaliation in the following game.

Cooler heads prevailed, and Hoskins got the last laugh a night later, hitting a two-run homer off Rhame and then taunting the pitcher with a 34-second trot around the bases.

Rhame was suspended two games and fined for intentionally throwing at Rhame -- he has denied the accusation and reportedly planned to appeal -- and has since been sent down to Triple-A Syracuse.

On Monday night, he squared off against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Phillies' affiliate, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. According to Syracuse.com, when Rhame entered the game in the sixth inning, the ballpark's video screen showed Hoskins' homer and slow trip around the bases, angering Syracuse manager Tony DeFrancesco. After the game, DeFrancesco yelled at IronPigs president and general manager Kurt Landes, who apologized and said he was unaware the video was going to be shown, according to the report.

Rhame did not want to discuss the video after the game -- a 7-4 Mets win -- but teammate Carlos Gomez spoke up for him.

“They didn’t respect (us), not only the pitcher, they don’t respect us as a team," he said. "They should not have played that video. We’re all professionals here."

By Tuesday, the IronPigs had moved on to a new antic at the Syracuse Mets' expense.

Normally we don't do this, but we've been getting a lot of questions about the Mets' lineup. This should answer them all. pic.twitter.com/56P9r7GTyY
