On Monday, Moose and Maggie’s Mystery Guest presented by Jersey Mike’s brought some satellite lovin’ to the 1 p.m. hour on WFAN.
Monday’s Mystery Guest immediately drew Moose & Maggie to wonder, based on the voice, if it was Ken Singleton, who would’ve been the first two-time Mystery Guest. It wasn’t but after the full minute elapsed and the hosts discerned the guest was a former NFL player who now works for NFL Radio, Moose finally identified him as…
Solomon Wilcots!
After a laugh, Wilcots revealed that he gave Moose & Maggie his NFL teams in reverse order – Steelers, Vikings, Bengals – for a very specific reason.
“I didn’t want to make it a layup for you,” Wilcots joked.
With all that’s going on around the NFL right now, Wilcots had a lot to discuss, but when Maggie Gray noted she was nervous about football even getting underway, “Solly” agreed.
“I feel the same way. I remember four months ago when COVID-19 first hit and sports stopped, and we all thought the NFL would be ready and have time to prepare,” he said. “We definitely didn’t think at this point they’d still be trying to prepare and iron out policy, so I’m not as optimistic.”
And even if football kicks off, Wilcots isn’t sure they’ll make it into the fourth quarter of the season.
“I thought we’d be able to start and get into training camp, especially if the curve flattened,” Wilcots said. “With the new spike though, I’m not sure if they can finish, because once flu season comes around it might be a problem.”
You can listen to Wilcots’ entire segment by utilizing the Rewind function on the RADIO.COM app to go back to the top of the 1 p.m. hour – and, as always, you can check out more on-demand audio from Moose & Maggie, or tune in every day to the WFAN.com livestream of the show!
