Tom Brady announced his retirement while the Morning Show crew was live on air, and they were able to offer their instant reactions to the GOAT’s second retirement in a year as soon as it happened.

“This means nothing,” Eddie Scozarre said. “Let’s see in a month.”

Eddie’s other takeaway from Brady retiring?

“Welcome to the B team, Greg Olsen,” Eddie said, musing that Brady will head to the broadcast booth at the expense of Olsen.

The group immediately wondered if he would walk this retirement decision back as well, but Jerry says there’s no going back from this one, not at 46 years old and a second retirement announcement.

“I don’t think he would do this again,” Jerry said.

As for Gio and Jerry, they couldn’t figure out why Brady is retiring now, after divorcing his wife Gisele and seemingly not having a voice in his ear urging him to hang up the cleats.

“Why would he retire? His wife just divorced him,” Jerry said. He’s got nothing else…he really wants to go sit in the booth and not the field?”

“I think he’s nuts,” Gio said. “He finally got what we wanted, which was someone not nagging him about playing football, and now he retires? Is he trying to get back together with her, maybe?”
