C-Mac laments Giants still searching for quarterback while Bo Nix shines in Denver

Bo Nix led the Broncos to a thrilling victory against the Browns on Monday Night Football to inch closer towards a playoff berth, as the rookie threw for 294 yards and a touchdown in the winning effort.

It was the 10th time already this season that Nix has thrown for over 200 yards, and the third straight game in which he has eclipsed 270 yards through the air.

For Chris McMonigle, watching Nix air it out for Denver only increased his frustration with the Giants, who could have drafted Nix earlier this year and potentially checked their quarterback of the future box.

“I can’t tell you how upset I’m getting, because if you think where the Giants are right now with the quarterback situation...as I’m watching this game Monday night...I’ve been pushing aside all the crap we’ve seen and the draft process, all the ugliness we’ve seen in the past two years, in the hope that the one thing Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen can do is draft and develop a young quarterback,” C-Mac said.

“By no means is Bo Nix some kind of superstar just yet, but my God, does he not look like a real quarterback right now?”

Nix was taken 12th overall in the draft, and the Giants took Malik Nabers at sixth overall. Nabers looks to have star potential, but Big Blue has been looking for a legit answer at quarterback since Eli Manning retired, and to think that they will have to try and hit on another young quarterback in the draft next year, when they could have had a potential answer already in Nix, sends C-Mac up a wall.

“I can’t help but think that this could have all been avoided,” C-Mac said. “This whole thing could have been done...we would have been well into ‘They just drafted a quarterback, they’re our guys moving forward.’

“There were quarterbacks in that draft who are arguably all gonna be better than the 2-3 quarterbacks that we’re deciding on...the idea that the Giants had an opportunity to draft Bo Nix...that was an opportunity last year that I’m still hung up on.”
