Shedeur Sanders declares himself 'ultimate cheat code' in memorable combine presser

Many draft analysts seem to have concern with some of Shedeur Sanders’ physical traits when it comes to translating to the NFL level, but there shouldn’t be any worry about the future first-round pick’s confidence level.

The potential Giants draft pick spoke with reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine on Friday, and he wasn’t shy in talking himself up as a franchise-altering quarterback who any team would regret passing on.

“Why wouldn't a franchise pick me? You've got the ultimate cheat code,” Sanders declared, via SNY. “If you're not trying to change the franchise or the culture, don't get me…there should be no question why an NFL franchise should pick me.”

Channeling his father’s famous bravado, Sanders pointed to the success he had in college with multiple teams, with his father Deion as head coach. Last season, he was fourth in the country in passing yards, and led the Big 12 in nearly every passing category. Some wonder if he is top pick material given his level of competition at the collegiate level, but Sanders believes he will continue what he did in college into the NFL, maintaining that “history repeats itself.”

“I’ve been through six different OCs. So I’m able to adjust to any offensive and any scheme and make it work,” Sanders said. “We went from Jackson State to Colorado and changed two programs back to back. You don't think I could come to an NFL franchise and change a program again? It's history. We’ve done it again. It's always going to repeat itself.”

Sanders pointed to his mental acumen paired with his physical gifts when expressing his belief that he will be a special quarterback in the NFL, and when it comes to any doubters about his future as a pro, Sanders wondered aloud if it had to do with reasons beyond football, because he believes nobody could watch his tape and not see a future star.

“When people say I'm not one of the top QBs or the top QB, what are y'all going based on?” Sanders said with his usual smile. “I did it year after year after year. Obviously it has to be some type of external hate that you have for the last name, because I've proven myself on the field.”

If the Giants do indeed take Sanders with their top pick, they may not wind up with the best quarterback in the draft, but it seems they will certainly land the QB with the most confidence.
