Shortly after Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy was fined for publicly criticizing the officiating in Boston’s loss to the Islanders in game five, Nick Ritchie was added to the list.

The NHL announced Tuesday morning that is has fined the Bruins winger $5,000, the maximum amount allowed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for elbowing New York’s Scott Mayfield during the first period in Monday night’s loss.

Mayfield was down on one knee as Ritchie skated by, extending his left arm out and making contact with Mayfield’s head. Mayfield fell to the ice and pleaded for a penalty call, but it never came.

Mayfield remained in the game and the Islanders were able to benefit from four other power plays, scoring on three of them to take a 3-2 series lead heading back to New York.
