Boomer & Gio don't buy Mike McCarthy's disappointment of not facing Aaron Rodgers

Cowboys head coach, and former Packers head coach, Mike McCarthy told reporters that it was “tough” to know he wouldn’t be playing against his former player Aaron Rodgers on Sunday when the Jets visit Dallas, noting that you always want to play against the best.

Gio isn’t buying that for a second.

“If you’re Mike McCarthy, who came into the year on the hot seat and gets off to a great start, you hear Aaron Rodgers gets hurt. I know he loves Aaron Rodgers. Maybe they didn’t have a great ending to their situation, but they won a Super Bowl together, you know he doesn’t want to see him get hurt,” Gio said. “But, selfishly, come on. He’s got to win as many games as possible.”

Boomer agrees, and also believes several other teams are relieved to know they will be facing Zach Wilson, not Rodgers, this year.

“All three teams in the AFC East took a big sigh of relief that they don’t have to face him,” Boomer said. “I don’t care what anybody says. You know it, I know it, and every fan knows it. But they’re not gonna be able to say it.”
