Joe Benigno praised the Jets’ offseason moves on Saturday, to which Boomer responded by wondering how long it will take for Joe to do 180 and rip the newest members of Gang Green once the season gets going.
“When they go haywire during the season,” Boomer said. “I want to just play that back.”
Gio knows exactly how it will sound when Joe turns on the new Jets.
“I don’t know why you bring in Tyron Smith, the guy hasn’t played more than three games in the last 14 years,” Gio said in his Benigno voice. “You bring in Mike Williams, the guy is a walking hamstring injury, bro. You knew that when you signed him…now he’s out for the season because he tore his pec on the first play of the season.
“That’s what you’re gonna get.”
Boomer noted, to be fair, that Joe is hardly the only Jet fan that is praising Joe Douglas’ moves so far, though that could change if the likes of Smith and Williams can’t stay on the field.
“Ninety five percent of the jets fans that have called in say Joe Douglas has knocked it out of the park,” Boomer said. “If those guys stay healthy.”
