Joe Benigno joined Evan and Tiki for his weekly spot on Monday, just in time to react to reports of Zach Wilson being “reluctant” to accept the offer of being put back in as the Jets starting quarterback.
Joe’s reaction? Take a hike, Zach.
“There’s no gray area here. See ya! See ya, Zach!” Joe said. “If he doesn’t want to be here, then goodbye. You don’t want to play football? Then see ya, go back to Utah.
“See ya. We’ll just have to finish out the 10-game losing streak with the absolute garbage that is Boyle and Siemian…if he doesn’t want to be here, get him the hell out of here.”
As for Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas, Joe says it’s likely best to blow it up and fire them, regardless of what Aaron Rodgers thinks about it.
“This is the worst-run franchise in the NFL. The GM of the franchise is a guy who has done absolutely nothing for the franchise, and that’s Aaron Rodgers,” Joe said. “This guy, who has done nothing for our franchise…he gets to call the shots? We’re sitting here, we need a quarterback for the future. You think Aaron Rodgers is playing 17 games next year?
“Maybe, for a change, Woody Johnson can get it right with a head coach. I don’t know who that guy is…you know I’d love to see Rex Ryan back.
“I find it hard to wrap my head around 4-13, a six-game losing streak to end last year, a 10-game losing streak to end this year, I got a hard time wrapping my head around these guys coming back.
“How do these guys survive?”
