The NFL season officially begins Thursday night, so it’s time to make some picks!

When Keith made his division winner picks on Thursday morning, his notable predictions included an NFC East title for the Cowboys, and a third-place finish for the hyped Jets in the AFC East.

“I got the Buffalo Bills winning it. It’s their division,” Keith said. “Until Miami rises up, I got Miami second. The Jets, as much hype and talent is around the Jets, football is a game of cohesion. If you’ve never been in the trenches and never gone to battle, you might not understand what I’m talking about. You need trust in the guy next to you. It’s 11 guys pulling on the same chain, and you’re only as strong as the weakest link. Unfortunately, on both sides of the ball for the Jets, there are some weak links that can be exposed. There are also some weak links in the coaching staff.”

The Jets are carrying the highest expectations they have had in recent memory, but Keith believes a tough schedule coupled with the time it takes to develop trust and familiarity with new faces involved will lead to disappointment, though the expanded playoff field may still give them a chance to make a run.

“I don’t expect it to all come together this year where they can win the division,” Keith said. “I think they can possibly get in as the final Wild Card.”
