Before Donte DiVincenzo was part of the controversial ending to Monday’s win over the lowly Pistons, he was draining five of 10 3-point attempts en route to a 21-point effort.
The Knicks sharpshooter is shooting a career-best 41.7 percent from downtown this season, a remarkable number given the fact that he is taking a career-high 7.4 triple attempts a game.
The former Warrior has been a revelation for the Knicks, and BT had high praise for the 27-year-old on Tuesday morning.
“He’s a stud. He’s not a cute little story,” BT said. “Donte DiVincenzo is John Starks times 10. The efficiency is not even close.”
Sal scoffed at the declaration, noting that it is a different NBA nowadays, but BT put into perspective just how impactful DiVincenzo has been for the Knicks this season.
“Of the top 30 players in the NBA in terms of 3-pointers made, he’s the only guy playing 26 minutes or less,” BT said. “When he’s on the court…he’s destroying people.”
