BT picked the Knicks to reach the conference final, and he is still standing by that, but after Saturday’s game three, he is far less confident in that declaration.
“Confidence is obviously wavering,” BT said. “This is the most rattled that I’ve been as a Knicks fan all season.”
Saturday didn’t just put the Knicks behind again in the series with the Heat, but it showed the continuation of some glaring struggles for the young group, most notably their trouble with making shots. New York shot 8-of-40 from downtown in their blowout loss on Saturday, after it seemed like the team couldn’t shoot much worse than it did in game one.
“This team, even in advancing to round two and already winning a game in round two, has not looked like the team that was popping on all cylinders many times in the final two months of the regular season,” BT said. “I’m really, really, genuinely worried.
“Saturday changed a lot for me. It’s always dangerous to put overreacting to one game, but the things we were worried would hold them back, are proving to hold them back. And they can’t shed it. it’s not a game or two. It’s three weeks. Nobody’s shooting!”
