Jalen Brunson all business after Knicks playoff performance for the ages

Jalen Brunson put together a Knicks playoff performance for the ages in game five, keeping New York's season alive after playing all 48 minutes on Wednesday night.

In those 48 minutes, Brunson shot 12-for-20, connected on 40 percent of his 3-point attempts, and finished with 38 points, seven assists, and nine rebounds in one of the best individual postseason performances in franchise history.

For Brunson, it was all business after the win, considering the team's business is still unfinished.

"Just tried to do everything I could to win," Brunson said. "We did that and now it's on to game six.

"There's nothing really to celebrate. We obviously won and we get to see another day. This was great, but we have to get one down there."

Brunson injured his ankle in game one, to the point where many on the Heat side expected Brunson to sit out game two. While the Knicks point guard didn't look like himself in games 2-4, he certainly looked like he was back to his star ways in game five, with the ankle holding up for the entire 48 minutes of playoff intensity.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau didn't have to mention Brunson's potential playing time before the game. Nothing needed to be spoken, as Brunson was ready to do whatever was needed to keep the Knicks' season alive.

"Nothing was said at all," Brunson said. "Whatever it takes."
