Josh Hart is already beloved by Knicks fans since coming over before the trade deadline, and likely earned the adoration of even more New York sports fans by honoring his great uncle on Monday night.
Hart was seen making his way into Madison Square Garden before Monday's game against the Timberwolves wearing a Yankees Elston Howard jersey, a legend that Hart never got to meet, but has said for years how much he looks up to the MVP and the first Black player to ever play for the Yanks.
Hart's father, Moses, was Howard's nephew, but Howard passed away 15 years before Hart was born. Still, Howard's legacy had an impact on Hart, and rightfully so. Howard won four World Series titles, two Gold Gloves, and earned 12 All-Star selections.
Hart went on to shoot 5-for-7 from the field on Monday night after rocking his great uncle's pinstripes.
