Julius Randle has had his share of frustrating bouts this season, but on Wednesday night, he looked like the version of himself that took home the NBA's Most Improved Player award and captured the adoration of Knicks fans.
Taking on Trae Young and the rival Hawks at Madison Square Garden, Randle went off for 34 points, hauled in 17 rebounds, dished out five assists while not logging a single turnover, and shot an impressive 6-for-12 from downtown while sinking all eight of his free throw attempts. He was a game-high +29 in the blowout win for New York.
His stat sheet stuffer of a performance helped Randle make NBA history, as he became the first player ever to log at least 30 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and five 3-pointers made in a game while never turning the ball over.
It was also the first time in Knicks history that a player scored at least 30 points, grabbed at least 15 rebounds, and dished out at least five assists in a game without recording a turnover.
Per ESPN Stats and Info, it was also Randle's 27th game as a Knicks where he finished with at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, passing Patrick Ewing for second most in franchise history, now only trailing Walt Frazier's 32.
