Shams Charania of The Athletic surprised many on Monday morning when he reported that the Nets and Kyrie Irving are at "an impasse" in contract extension negotiations, and Irving could wind up hitting the open market where none other than the Knicks are reported as a potential suitor.
The Lakers were the other team listed as a potential destination for the New Jersey native, but after missing out on him in 2019, would Knicks fans want to see Irving playing home games at Madison Square Garden next season?
The overwhelming response: absolutely not.
Please no. We don't need that headache affecting our young guys. Plus Thibs would make Kyrie play so much the 1st game he would sit out the next 20. No thanks.
