The Knicks will reportedly have a representative at the Slam Dunk contest for the third straight year.
According to multiple reports, New York center Jericho Sims has accepted an invitation to the event after Shaedon Sharpe withdrew. According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Sims and teammate Obi Toppin, a former Slam Dunk contest champion, were discussed by the league, but it will be Sims competing.
Sims, currently seeing more playing time with Mitchell Robinson recovering from a fractured thumb, had one of the highest verticals in NBA Combine history, and while he isn't known for his offensive game, he can certainly throw it down.
Sims will be competing in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Feb. 18, looking to defend Toppin's title.
