Steve Cohen officially introduced his coveted president of baseball operations hire on Monday, as David Stearns was welcomed in during an introductory press conference.
BT believes it will go down as a major turning point for the Mets franchise, and could be looked back on as the start of sustained success.
"I strongly believe that we're gonna circle this day and this is gonna go down as one of the most promising pivotal transformational days in Mets history," BT said. "This guy is gonna get it done.
"I think David Stearns is a brilliant hire."
Sal wishes it got off to a better start, as he didn't like the decision to move on from Buck Showalter, but BT believes that move shows that Stearns will do whatever it takes to execute his vision for a sustained winner, even if he hurts some feelings along the way.
"I think going in this direction, and bestowing the power Stearns is going to have, every decision will be emotionless," BT said. "You gotta be cutthroat."
