Buck Showalter told reporters after Thursday's loss that he was "really proud" of the way the Mets fought all series, despite blowing three straight games in which they led by three runs.
For Tiki and Tierney, that response doesn't fit what the team needs at this point. After six straight losses, it's time for some accountability in a public manner.
"How do you say into a microphone after the way you lost, to the team you lost to, after what happened last year…How can you say you're proud?" BT said. "It just misses the mark by a mile.
"There's no urgency. It's bad."
Tiki says Steve Cohen needs to step in and be the one to call out the underperforming team, especially since the manager seemingly isn't willing to do so.
"He has to," Tiki said. "He can't let what Buck Showalter is saying be the narrative about this malaise that the team is in."
