That sentence is something that actually happened – as documented by Pete Alonso’s new wife, Haley, the happy couple met the head of the Catholic Church earlier this week while visiting Vatican City on their honeymoon:
Pete and Haley Alonso were married on Nov. 12, and while it’s not often one gets to meet The Pope at all, the newlyweds getting that chance in their first week of marriage is something special.
