After being given a chance in training camp before the start of this season, Jimmy Vesey took advantage of his opportunity, and he was rewarded for it on Wednesday.
The Blueshirts announced Wednesday morning that the team had signed Vesey to a two-year extension, reportedly worth $800,000 per year. Vesey was signed as a free agent back in October, and has been a consistent contributor for the surging Rangers since the start of the season.

One of the team’s top shorthanded contributors, the forward has six goals and six assists on the season, holding a +4 rating. The 29-year-old has played in 38 games so far this season.
Vesey spent the first three years of his NHL career with the Rangers, then made stops with the Sabres, Maple Leafs, Canucks, and Devils before returning to New York this season.
