Sal Licata’s latest tirade on a caller was nothing short of spectacular.

On the air after the World Baseball Classic came to a thrilling end, Sal fielded calls from fans who continuously tried to convince him of the event’s importance, as Sal has been vocal in his disinterest in what he coined, the ‘Worthless Baseball Classic.’

So, when he opened up the phone lines and the very first caller tried to explain something Sal already knew, it was over.

Bill from Pennsylvania called in and stressed the global impact of the WBC, and it was off to the races.

“Globally! Not here!” Sal said. “What means more here?!

“Yes, you idiot! Why do I care about globally? Don’t you understand? It’s not for us, you moron! What don’t you get?”

As soon as Bill tried to insinuate that Sal wasn’t “bright” enough to understand his argument, despite Sal clearly acknowledging that side of the spectrum, he could only throw his headphones down in disgust and stare out the window.

“I actually can’t take it. I seriously cannot take it,” Sal said. “This guy, again, you just don’t understand. Globally, yes, it’s for money. Why do we, here, care about it? Why should any Mets fans, or Yankee fans, or Pirates fans, why do we care about it? We don’t, because it’s not for us.

“I understand why they’re doing it. I understand what it means for the sport globally. Why do I care about global? Why do we, here, who care about Major League Baseball, care about global?”
