Boomer says Yankees have to sweep Red Sox to get back on track

The Yankees are back in action on Friday night, and Boomer says the Bombers can’t afford to drop even a single game at Fenway.

It’s time for the Yanks to emphatically get back on track.

“They gotta sweep the Red Sox,” Boomer said. “Come out of Boston this weekend feeling good about your team and getting yourself back on track.”

The Red Sox are reeling, dropping into the AL East basement while Chris Sale suffered a season-ending wrist injury after a bicycle accident. Not much is going right in Boston, but the rivals always bring their best when the Yankees are in town, and Boomer says New York has to respond and right the ship.

“They’ve gone through two and a half weeks of down time now, kind of scuffling and baserunning mistakes, relief pitching mistakes, starters bad at times,” Boomer said. “They just gotta get out of it.”
