The writer for all stuff NBA, NBA Draft, and College Basketball for the Athletic joined Josh Parcell on the Final Drive to discuss his latest article on why North Carolina Guard Cole Anthony is the most polarizing prospect in this year's NBA Draft. Sam states that the problems that coaches who coached against him and NBA scouts have is "how Cole uses his athleticism on the court, and he doesn't quite play up to his open floor athleticism when he's in the half-court settings on a more well-spaced structure with a more up-tempo offense".
Sam also states that the situation that Cole found himself at Carolina wasn't the most "optimal" situation, but Sam also states that "it would be reductive to solely blame Cole for the past season but at the same time he wasn't very good at driving to the basket and his stats in that area were atrocious".
Josh asked Sam before the end of the interview what he thinks the Hornets should do in the draft. Sam said he loves James Wiseman, and Sam also mentioned USC big man Onyeka Okongwu as a potential pick saying "he's a switchable big guy who fits the mold and culture the Hornets have been building the last few years".
