The Sports Columnist for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Co-Host of the Press Box on ESPN Radio joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse to discuss how the Raiders are looking ahead of next weekend's Week 1 matchup against the Panthers.
The first topic that Ed got into was the latest with the Raiders and Ed said they're optimistic with the team, and that he doesn't know how much they have hit during cam so he thinks that the team could be sloppy in the first few weeks. Ed also said that the team still has a lot of question marks just like the Panthers.
When it came to Derek Carr Ed said the only way he sees him keeping the starting job is if the Raiders can make the playoffs. This is despite Derek putting good numbers, but Ed thinks that is the only way Derek makes it past 2020 in the Silver and Black.
Ed also pointed out an interesting note from the Raiders that could possibly help the Panthers in Week 1 by stating:
"They've said often that there is no film when it comes to Matt Rhule and the Panthers. They don't know what to expect from Rhule at Baylor and Joe Brady at LSU. That is one thing that is concerning them is the lack of knowledge outside of McCaffrey of what to expect from both the offense and the defense. The only thing they could possibly look at is collegiate tape, and it is the biggest concern for the Raiders staff."
