The former Panthers great at WR turned NFL Network analyst joined Kyle Bailey on the Clubhouse today to discuss some concerns about Panthers WR Curtis Samuel, and the contract talks between the Saints and Alvin Kamara.

The first thing that Steve weighed in on this afternoon was the conflicting reports that Curtis Samuel has had struggles at training camp this year and Steve responded by saying:

"I'm speaking primarily as a former Carolina Panther and as a person who loves living in Charlotte. People just need to hold their horses and let the young man develop and play ball. What he needs to do is get on the football field and learn what his groove is and learn the new system is and get in a groove with his new QB. At one point I was just a returner and then people said we were glad to get Steve out of here and Kelvin Benjamin will replace him and now he is parking cars. People just need to realize everyone develops differently."

Steve then looked at some of the broader NFL news stories including the contract extension dispute between the Saints and RB Alvin Kamara as Steve told Kyle that the Saints have let the person trying to get the contract to control the narrative which is a mistake. Steve also points out what has lead up to the contract talks, as Steve breaks down some of the stuff that went on in his contract talks as his negotiations worked for him, but not for others.

Steve also thinks that the Chargers can contend with veteran QB Tyrod Taylor, he just thinks the philosophy of the offense will dictate how successful the former Bills QB will be in LA.
