The College Football Writer for CBS Sports joined Kyle Bailey on the Clubhouse to recap the first week of SEC play, and the battle that many ACC teams find themselves in to challenge Clemson in December.
The first thing the two discussed was the first week of play in the SEC as Chip told Kyle he saw a lot of sloppiness minus the performance of Mike Leach and Mississippi State beating LSU. Chip also told Kyle that if the SEC schools want to slow down the Air Raid offense of the Bulldogs is for the defenses to play more zone.
Kyle then asked Chip about how long he thinks it will take for Florida State to get out of the rut that they currently find themselves in as Chip says it's gonna take some time which is hard for a program that hasn't had a rebuild like this in over 40 years.
Keeping things in the ACC, Kyle asked Chip how many teams have a legitimate chance to vie for the 2nd spot in the ACC Championship Game along with Clemson and Chip stated:
"3, and those teams are Notre Dame, Miami, North Carolina and it feels like Virginia Tech could have that argument but I'm gonna need to see a little bit more than 1 game, and I will be fair and say North Carolina has only played 1 game as well. I just think we have about 3 or 4 teams in that tier and then you can draw a line in the sand after that."
