The College Football and Golf writer for CBS Sports joined Kyle Bailey on the Clubhouse as he previewed the opening weekend of college football play for the ACC and BIG 12, and Chip recaps a remarkable performance in Golf from Dustin Johnson.
The first thing that Chip discussed the soft return of College Football as he watched every single game, but wasn't necessarliy basking in the glory of the return, and Chip said that those games didn't really help him get ready for the season with many beat downs and a coach already stepping down as Head Coach.
Kyle also asked Chip what he thinks is the most important game in college football and Chip came up with an answer that Kyle wasn't expecting saying:
"What if Mike Norvell of Florida State and Geoff Collins of Georgia Tech matching up this weekend is a preview of the 2025 ACC Championship Game? In the ACC Championship era, these are two teams that have been contenders. I do believe what Geoff Collins has been able to do at GT by attracting a higher level of talent and Mike Norvell has more built-in advantages at FSU. So if I'm going to buy on both Geoff Collin's and Mike Norvell's stock and think that they can both can take them to compete for ACC championship's then heck yeah this game is interesting."
Before the end of the interview Kyle switched gears to the PGA Tour as Chip discussed the tear that Dustin Johnson has been on throughout the past month and Chip pointed out what makes this run is more impressive because he didn't play Golf during the pandemic, and Chip says that Dustin will most likely be the favorite for the upcoming US Open.
