The Columnist and College Sports Editor for The Charleston Post & Courier Gene Sapakoff joined Kyle Bailey today on The Clubhouse to recap the instant classic between Clemson & Notre Dame, and discuss the chances that South Carolina lets go of Will Muschamp at the end of the year.
Gene started the conversation by recapping Clemson's Double-OT loss to Notre Dame on the road as Gene said Saturday is proof that the Tigers need to get back to full-strength soon, and Gene also thinks Saturday's game showed how Notre Dame belongs to be in the conversation alongside Alabama and Clemson.
Keeping things in the Palmetto State Kyle wanted Gene to discuss what the future may hold for South Carolina Head Coach Will Muschamp after an embarrassing loss to Texas A&M by a score of 49-3 as Gene said:
"I'd lean at about a 63% chance that the Gamecocks will make a change at the end of the year. It's a $13.2 Million dollar buyout on paper, but that can be negotiated down and then negated to what Will makes when he goes to become a coordinator at another school. I just think you have to do, because despite everything going on with COVID and all of these schools losing money you don't want disinterest in your program."
The final topic Gene discussed was the upcoming Masters this weekend as Gene thinks the guy with the best chance this weekend is Dustin Johnson.
