Radio Host for 107.5 The Game in Columbia SC Heath Cline joined Kyle Bailey in The Clubhouse today to react to the firing of Will Muschamp, and where the South Carolina Gamecocks go from here.
Kyle started the interview by asking Heath if this was still a surprise to him given the current economic crisis many schools are facing as Heath told Kyle that he believed at the beginning of the year he thought it would be a free pass year for Muschamp, but Heath said the last 3 losses which saw different but all equally embarrassing results took it to a point where the administration couldn't ask the fan base to believe that things were going to get better.
Kyle then asked Heath if it is a done deal that Hugh Freeze is the front runner for the job as Heath was quick to tell Kyle:
"I think Billy Napier is the guy from Louisiana Lafayette if you were going to pick a guy who is the most likely answer right now. Napier is a guy who has plenty of ties to the state of South Carolina and I know that there has been some interest for him for at least a year."
Heath also said that despite the hype for Liberty HC Hugh Freeze South Carolina might be weary of bringing in a guy who had major NCAA violations brought against him at Ole Miss while South Carolina is waiting to see the punishment from the NCAA Nike scandal.
