The Head Coach of the Charlotte 49ers football team joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse to recap the events that led to the cancellation of the 49ers game against the Tar Heels, and how they are preparing to return to the field against Georgia State.

The first thing that Will touched on with Kyle was with everything that went down late last week that led to the cancellation of the 49ers game against the Carolina Tar Heels as Will told Kyle that:

"We had 2 players test positive about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and it also took out roommates due to contact tracing. We luckily didn't have any cases from practice or travel or meetings. The next week we had another COVID case which led to 3 COVID cases in a week's span, and what he learned is if you test positive or are linked to contact tracing you can not test out of COVID. The one last week led to a huge hit to a position group to where we only had 5 offensive lineman practicing at one point. Some of it doesn't make sense to our players as they are frustrated, and I am frustrated but this is not something we are not messing around with."

When it came to the question to how shorthanded the team will be Will was frank by saying they will be shorthanded and miss a lot of guys, but they have the numbers to play Georgia State, and Will doesn't want this to be an excuse for his team going against a stout team like the Panthers.

Kyle also wanted to know the health of QB Chris Reynolds as Will told Kyle he is doing better and he thinks the next 2 days will tell Will if he is ready to play in the home opener on Saturday.
