MLB Writer and Columnist for Rotowire as well as a podcaster for Fangraphs Jason Collette joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse to preview game 6 of the World Series, and what the 2021 MLB could look like.
Jason started the interview by discussing the historically bad ratings the World Series has gotten as he was a little surprised to see how low they were, but realized the matchup wouldn't be something that would necessarily attract many casual viewers and Jason thinks playing in a neutral site with limited fans due to COVID has hurt the atmosphere that postseason baseball usually brings.
When it came to the action on the diamond tonight as Jason notes that the Dodgers have struggled against left-handed pitchers and the Rays have lefty and former Cy Young winner Blake Snell is on the mound as Jason thinks the Rays will win Game 6 as this series will probably mirror 1960 in some ways as it feels like in every conceivable way this should be a sweep, but the Rays have stood tall and fought back.
Kyle then asked Jason if he thinks the next MLB season will start on time due to the unknown of what COVID will look like along with many other factors as Jason told Kyle:
"I think the MLB will try to do whatever they can to start the 2021 season on-time, but it's not in their control. They gotta see what the fall and winter brings health wise with COVID-19. It is going to be an interesting year between all of the COVID-19 concerns, and the players having to come back to a full season with pitchers never facing a season like this before which could lead to more injuries."
