The former Charlotte 49ers legend, Celtics legend, 1981 NBA Finals MVP now turned color commentator on the Boston Celtics Radio Network joined the show to give his thoughts on the latest happenings in the NBA Playoffs.
The first thing that Cornbread discussed with Kyle was the Celtics heartbreaking loss to the Raptors in Game 3 of the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs as Cedric explained how it changed the series saying:
"It makes game 4 the most important game in the series. If the Celtics win, they regain the stranglehold over the Raptors, but f the Raptors win game 4 now it will even and you're basically in a best of 3 series then. I Like the Celtics chances despite last night's loss because the Celtics have played really good defense, and they have multiple people they can go to on any given night."
Cornbread also weighed in on the Heat-Bucks series as he says what has helped the Heat is the whole team has taken the attitude of Jimmy Butler onto the court, and the Bucks Achilles heel of giving up 3's has been exposed so far in the series.
Before the end of the chat, Kyle wanted to get Cornbread's thoughts on if Stephen A was right about Steve Nash getting the Nets job is a sign of white privilege and Cornbread thinks it is something more along the line of being careful about what you wish for. The reason Cornbread thinks this is that they have talented players in Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, but they have diva type of attitudes. Cornbread told Kyle that for this to work they needed a coach like Gregg Popovich who is a strong coach who can take criticism and give it out as well. Cedric thinks the task is too much for a first-time coach even though the top stars like the decision.
