The Sr. NFL Writer for the Draft Network joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse as he weighed in on the biggest matchups upon the NFL's return, and how the draft board for 2021 will be a challenge with so many players opting-out of the season.
Trevor first gave his thoughts to Kyle on Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahommes dueling it out under the lights on Thursday as both QB's also got a big paycheck this offseason. Trevor brought up that despite the hype surrounding the defending Super Bowl champs, the Texans were up 24-0 in the playoffs, but at the end Trevor thinks the Chiefs will be too much for Deshaun and the Texans.
Kyle then asked Trevor if he insane to think the Panthers beat the Raiders this Sunday as Trevor eased Kyle's worries saying:
"I think the Panthers are going to be competitive this year. Many people who don't know the team already think they will pick in the top 3, and they're picking QB. I get it, but when you look at exactly who is where from the coach that Matt Rhule is, to the veteran defensive mind that Phil Snow is, how Joe Brady is going to try and get every single ounce of this offense out from what he had his LSU days, and for Teddy Bridgewater this is his best chance to be a franchise QB again. None of these guys are going to take this chance lightly and I could see the Panthers winning this game."
Trevor also weighed in on former Panthers QB Cam Newton making his debut with the Patriots as he takes on the Dolphins and their new-look defense and Trevor says despite the opt-outs that the Patriots had to the defense, he thinks Cam and the Pats can still get the job done to start the year at home.
