Former NFL Offensive Lineman Kevin Donnalley turned Director of High School Relations for the Tar Heels football program joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse to give his thoughts on the Panthers season, and how the Heels are hoping to bounce back against NC State.
Kevin first discussed the Panthers 3-3 start to the season as he has been pleased with the season so far and how Matt Rhule and co. have done with the Panthers, but is concerned with so many injuries on the roster for their game this weekend against the Saints.
Kevin then discussed how the Heels have responded to the loss at Florida State last week as they turn their focus towards rival NC State as Kevin said part of last week is when you have a ranking beside your name you become hunted, and he thinks last week was a very good learning experience for a team that is extremely talented, but still young.
When it came to the Tar Heels opponent this weekend in NC State Kevin was very complimentary towards them saying that they have gotten better each week along with their confidence clearly growing. Kevin also is excited for the fact that this is the first matchup in the 21st century between these two teams where they are both ranked as Kevin said it raises the stakes for a rivalry game that already means so much.
