The head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels football team joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse to discuss his team's 3-0 start to the season, and why he thinks we are seeing so many high scoring games in college football this year.

Kyle started the conversation recapping the Tar Heel's 56-48 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies as Mack said his team was extra motivated to take the field on Saturday as the Heels have lost so many tough games to the Hokies over the past few years, and the guys were excited about the game.

Kyle then asked about the Heels rushing attack with Javonte Williams and Michael Carter and how special they are as Mack said it would be hard pressed to find 2 running backs on the same team that are better than Javonte and Michael as Mack commends their talent on the field and their selflessness for letting each one thrive at the same time.

When it came to QB Sam Howell, Kyle wanted to know what Mack is asking Sam to do this year compared to last year as Mack told Kyle:

"We've asked Sam to make more plays with his feet because he's really fast and a good runner, we've also asked him to be careful and not force throws as he did an amazing job on Saturday against Virginia Tech, and lastly we want him to be more of a leader for this team and he's absolutely done that as well."

Kyle then wanted to get Mack's opinion on a bigger topic in college football with the amount of high scoring games taking place in the sport right now and what's behind it.

Mack said it is a disease that is happening across the country with no real solution that could be because of the rules in the sport favor offenses, the up-tempo nature of the sport, or it could be the problems that have arisen with COVID causing even more challenges for teams across the country this year.
