Off the back of two late third period goals, the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 3-1 on Sunday at KeyBank Center.
Jack Eichel was the lone goal scorer for the Sabres, tying the game at 1-1 in the second period. The fast-paced game was physical throughout, seeing the Sabres get five power play opportunities. They were officially unable to convert on any of the five chances, but Eichel's goal came four seconds after a Winnipeg penalty expired. The power play also surrendered a short-handed goal to Andrew Copp, who got loose on a breakaway.
Carter Hutton was back in goal for Buffalo, where he was able to tally 26 saves on 28 shots faced.
