The Buffalo Bills have a couple of extra roster spots to play with after four players were identified as close contacts of a team trainer that tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis, as well as defensive tackles Star Lotulelei and Vernon Butler have been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

To pick up a couple extra bodies before Saturday's preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers at Highmark Stadium, the Bills have claimed wide receiver Rico Gafford and defensive tackle Joey Ivies off waivers.

Gafford was a teammate of Josh Allen's at the University of Wyoming, although he played cornerback in college and has since switched to wide receiver.

In his three-year NFL career, the 25-year-old has played in just eight games, grabbing two receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown with the Raiders.

As for Ivie, he gives the Bills an extra defensive tackle while Lotulelei and Butler are away. The Bills happen to be Ivie's eighth team in the last four years since being drafted in the seventh round (228th overall) by the Dallas Cowboys in 2017.

The 26-year-old was most recently with the Indianapolis Colts.
