Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The coaching staff under Joe Brady is beginning to take form as the Buffalo Bills are hiring Jim Leonhard as the teams new defensive coordinator. The news was first reported by Ian Rappaport.
WGR Bills beat reporter Sal Capaccio confirms the news on Saturday that the Bills are set to hire Leonard as the new defensive coordinator.
Leonhard played for the Bills from 2005-07 and again in 2013. Leonhard was the defensive passing game coordinator in Denver under Vance Joseph the last two season. Leonhard was the defensive coordinator with the University of Wisconsin from 2017-2022 and served as interim head coach for the Badgers in 2022.
The hiring comes after the Bills hire Joe Brady as the new head coach along with Pete Carmichael Jr. along with former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Pat Meyer in the same role for the Bills.
