Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - It's official: The Buffalo Bills will host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m. EST, as part of the league's Super Wild Card Weekend, the league announced late Sunday night.

Sunday's playoff showdown in Orchard Park will mark the third time this season the Bills and Dolphins will meet for a game.

The first contest went in favor of the Dolphins in Week 3, with Miami squeezing out a 21-19 win over the Bills in the sweltering South Florida sun. The next contest went in Buffalo's favor, as the Bills got a walkoff game-winning kick from Tyler Bass to beat the Dolphins, 32-29, and clinch a playoff berth for a fourth-straight year.

The Dolphins were able to clinch a playoff berth on Sunday with an 11-6 win over the New York Jets, paired with the Bills' victory over the New England Patriots at Highmark Stadium. It is the first time since the 2016 season where Miami will compete in the NFL postseason.

However, the big question heading into Sunday's playoff matchup will be the availability of Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The 24-year-old has missed the last two games for Miami after suffering his second recorded, and potentially third concussion this season back on Christmas against the Green Bay Packers.

Tagovailoa has played relatively well against the Bills this season, averaging 210 yards passing in two games, while completing 62.5% of his passes with three touchdowns.

If Tagovailoa is unable to go for the Dolphins come Sunday in Orchard Park, Miami will be forced to, once again, turn to Skylar Thompson under center. In just his second career NFL start on Sunday against the Jets, Thompson went 19-of-33 for 166 yards and an interception.

Pregame coverage of Sunday's Wild Card Round matchup with the Dolphins is set to get started at 7 a.m. EST on the official voice of the Bills - WGR Sports Radio 550.
