East Rutherford, NJ (WGR550) - The Buffalo Bills moved to 2-0 after a convincing 30-10 win over the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.

Here are my Arrows Up and Down from the contest:

ARROW UP

Defense!

The Bills defense certainly turned it around from a week ago. They gave up a total of 154 yards. The Jets had just eleven first downs and averaged just 3.3 yards per offensive play.

DE Joey Bosa

The ten-year vet was dominant at times, collecting a sack, a quarterback hurry, and forcing two fumbles, one of which the Bills recovered.

DT Zion Logue

Logue was just elevated from the practice squad this week after Ed Oliver was injured. He was prepared and ready to play.  He collected a half of a sack and batted down a pass.

ST Sam Franklin

Franklin was all over the field on kickoffs, showing why the Bills signed him. He collected three tackles (two solo) just on kickoffs.

Run defense

After getting gashed last week by the Ravens, the Bills held the Jets to 100 total yards and 3.3 yards per carry on the ground.  Jets running back Breece Hall had just 29 yards on ten carries.

Third down defense

The Jets were 0-for-11 on third down. According to Stathead, it’s only the second time since data was tracked in the early 1990s the Bills held an opponent to 0 conversions on at least 11 third down attempts. The other was two years ago (11-19-23) at the Jets, when they were 0-for-11 that day, also, and the Bills won 32-6.

RB James Cook

Cook ran the ball 21 times for 132 yards, averaging 6.3 yards per carry. He also scored two touchdowns, including one on an electrifying 44-yard run.

WR Elijah Moore

Moore didn’t have eye-popping stats, but Arrow Up for scoring a touchdown against his former team, collecting a total of 37 yards from scrimmage.

Safeties Cole Bishop and Taylor Rapp

After a rough performance a week ago, Cole Bishop and Tylor Rapp were much better in communication, recognition, and performance.  Bishop tied for the Bills lead with five total tackles, adding a sack and a quarterback hurry.  Rapp had four tackles.

P Cameron Johnston

In his first game in a Bills uniform, Johnston punted three times and pinned the Jets inside their own 20-yard line on two of them.

K Matt Prater

Prater was once again perfect on his kicks, nailing three extra points and three field goals, including a 52-yarder.

ARROW DOWN

Third down offense

The Bills were just 5-for-14 on third downs (35.7%).

TE Dawson Knox

Knox dropped two passes it looked like he should have come up with.

Red zone offense

The Bills were inside the Jets red zone four times and came away with two touchdowns and two field goals (50%).

Not scoring a TD after the first quarter fumble recovery

Already up 7-0, the Bills recovered a Jets fumble on the first play of New York’s second series.  Buffalo was set up 1st and 10 at the Jets 24 yard line.  After six plays they gained just 14 yards and settled for a field goal.
