Pittsburgh, Pa. (93.7 The Fan/WGR 550) - The Pittsburgh Steelers' next opponent could be in the market for a wide receiver, given the recent injuries to have plagued the team.

The Buffalo Bills only have three wide receivers currently on the roster currently healthy in Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis and Khalil Shakir. Even then, Davis been dealing with an ankle injury for the last two games, so he isn’t 100% healthy.

The Bills lost Isaiah McKenzie (concussion protocol) and Jamison Crowder (broken ankle) in their come-from-behind win over the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, while Jake Kumerow (ankle) was injured in Buffalo's Week 3 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

While the Bills will likely activate a couple of players off their practice squad ahead of Sunday's game in Orchard Park - Isaiah Hodgins and Tavon Austin are available - they could be looking to also add a wide receiver on the trade market.

There has been talk of Buffalo trying to sign free agent wideout Odell Beckham Jr., who is still unsigned as he continues to recover from a torn ACL suffered in Super Bowl LVI. However, Beckham may not be ready until November, and still could re-sign with the Los Angeles Rams.

So what about an option like Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool?

That’s a name Bills pregame and halftime show host Nate Geary from WGR Sports Radio 550 in Buffalo brought up on Twitter.

“I wonder what it would take to pry Chase Claypool from the Steelers after they drop to 1-4 next week,” Geary said, assuming the Steelers will fall to the Bills this upcoming week.

“He’d cost less than $1M against the cap this season and just $2M (ish) next season. What would he reasonably cost?”

Claypool missed a 50/50 ball in the second half against the New York Jets on Sunday, giving now-starting quarterback Kenny Pickett one of three interceptions on the day.

But at 6-foot-4, Claypool gives Pickett a big target, and even said after the loss Sunday, he isn’t afraid to keep going to Claypool.

Pickett might want to start doing that, as through four games, Claypool has just 11 catches for 79 yards and zero touchdowns. Including Sunday's interception, Claypool has one other target and no catches.

If the Steelers would be willing to move Claypool, it would then become a question of what the Bills are willing to give up.
