Could Bills pursue, land DeAndre Hopkins?

One NFL insider lists the Bills as the veteran wide receiver's best fit

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Now that the Arizona Cardinals have released star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, could the Buffalo Bills be suitors?

According to, at least, one NFL insider, yes.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Monday listed the Bills as one of the top fits for the soon-to-be 31-year-old, three-time All-Pro wideout, adding, "the feeling among some in the league is that the Bills have been lurking here."

Even if the team and player both have mutual interest, it would take either getting very creative, or Hopkins taking less than he anticipated to sign.

According to the NFL Players' Association's latest public salary cap report, the Bills have just over $3 million remaining in 2023 salary cap space. Fowler's report pegs them at $2.4 million.

There's been speculation tying the Bills to Hopkins all offseason, even fueled by the wide receiver himself. When asked what quarterbacks he'd like play with at this point of his career, Hopkins named Bills quarterback Josh Allen before mentioning any others.
