Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - As the Buffalo Bills get ready to host the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday afternoon at Highmark Stadium, the team has announced a trio of roster moves on Tuesday, all of which involving very familiar names.
The Bills have signed veterans Jordan Phillips and Jordan Poyer to the active 53-man roster from the practice squad, while defensive tackle Ed Oliver has been placed on Injured Reserve.
Phillips and Poyer were each signed to the practice squad just before the start of the regular season as veteran depth personalities in the locker room. However, due to a number of injuries the Bills currently face, they have been called upon to serve as key depth pieces on the field.
Phillips is in the midst of his fourth tenure with the Bills, and has already played in three games for the team as a practice squad call up. In those three contests, Phillips has registered four total tackles, one tackle for loss and a sack.
As for Poyer, he's in his second tenure with the Bills, having spent seven seasons with the team between 2017 and 2023. In two games with the Bills this year, Poyer has come up with six total tackles.
Meanwhile, Oliver heads to Injured Reserve after Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed on Monday that the veteran had torn his biceps muscle and will be out indefinitely after requiring surgery to repair the injury.
Despite missing a few games already this season due to an ankle injury, Oliver was a dynamic piece to the defensive front with 12 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, five quarterback hits and three sacks.
The Bills return to the practice field on Wednesday in Orchard Park.
