It has been quite a remarkable season for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, and the third-year signal caller was able to cement himself into franchise history in his final regular season game of 2020.
Allen passed Drew Bledsoe to set the Bills' franchise record for most passing yards in a single season when he completed a six-yard pass to running back Devin Singletary at the start of the second quarter of Sunday's matchup with the Miami Dolphins in Orchard Park.
The 2020 season has been a breakout year for Allen, who had the Bills playing for the No. 2 seed in the AFC on Sunday. The 24-year-old entered the game with 34 touchdowns to nine interceptions, as well as eight rushing touchdowns.
Allen only played through the first half on Sunday, throwing for 224 yards, while completing 18-of-25 pass attempts for three touchdowns and one interception. He officially finishes the 2020 campaign with 4,544 yards passing, while completing 69.2% of his passes with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
While many believe this year’s MVP race is between Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes, Allen has certainly put himself into the conversation with the season he has had. He also has Bills fans beaming with optimism as the playoffs approach.
Many fans took to social media on Sunday to celebrate Allen’s franchise-setting achievement:
