Miami Gardens, Fla. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills begin Week 2 of the NFL season with an impressive 31-10 victory over their division rival, the Miami Dolphins on "Thursday Night Football" at Hard Rock Stadium.
The big story of the night was the Buffalo defense, which forced three interceptions of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, including one that was returned for a touchdown. The unit was also able to hold the Dolphins offense to just 1-for-5 on fourth down attempts in the game.
Despite the stellar performance on Thursday, there is some concerning injury news once again as middle linebacker and team captain Terrel Bernard left the game early with a pectoral injury and did not return.
While head coach Sean McDermott did not have an update on Bernard's health status following the win, he, once again, commended the depth players like Baylon Spector, who stepped in to help hold the Dolphins in check.
"These guys work hard. Good things happen when you work hard, and sometimes the ball finds you like that," said McDermott during his postgame press conference with the media. "Again, it was a good team win. All three phases. It's not about one person, but again, all three phases factored in the win."
The Bills were able to win their first two games of the 2024 season in just five days. McDermott is happy with how his team was able to play their style of football on a short week of preparation.
"We played our style of football. And I think we've got things to do, to work on and get some rest, but [also] continuing to groove our [style of] football, and what we're trying to do and what we're trying to become," McDermott said.
