Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Another day, another starting middle linebacker. Meanwhile, the CB2 battle is just beginning.

During the second day of Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fisher University, Terrel Bernard got his shot at middle linebacker with the first-team defense.

As for Christian Benford, he got time at cornerback with the first-team defense opposite Tre’Davious White.

LISTEN LIVE TO WGR:

That’s two different players at each spot over the first two days of training camp. Wednesday saw Tyrel Dodson in the starting middle linebacker spot, while Dane Jackson was at the second corner spot.

Second-year cornerback Kaiir Elam is another body competing for the starting spot opposite White.

Rookie linebacker Dorian Williams is also competing at middle linebacker. He’s also been playing the weakside spot as a backup to All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano.

A.J. Klein and Baylon Spector are also both competing for the middle linebacker spot.

Here are some more observations from Day 2 of Bills training camp:

Kincaid Watch: Play of the day

Rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid continued to impress on his second day, catching several passes around the field.

One in particular stood out when Kincaid got free down the field as quarterback Josh Allen rolled out. Allen kept the play alive with his legs, and Kincaid knew where to be available as he did. Allen threw a strike, and Kincaid made the catch for a big gain.

Knox gets his turn to shine

It wasn’t just Kincaid making plays at the tight end position on Thursday.

In a very similar situation and looking play, Dawson Knox had to make an athletic grab to come down with a ball from Allen.

On this particular play, Allen had to evade the rush of Greg Rousseau, who got behind the line of scrimmage really quickly.

Defense gets picks

The defense had three interceptions off of Allen in 11-on-11, but two came off of tipped passes that maybe both should have been caught.

First, while in the rain, Allen threw a pass into some traffic. There were a few hands involved, but it banged off a couple players (I couldn’t make out exactly who) and ultimately fell into the hands of cornerback Cam Lewis.

After that, safety Jordan Poyer made a tremendous, instinctual play to undercut a route run by Stefon Diggs. The ball was a bit short and underthrown. Diggs slid to make the grab, but Poyer knew the perfect angle to get low and get it first.

No one touched him, so he got up and ran back for what might have been a touchdown.

Finally, wide receiver Khalil Shakir had a ball in his hands he should have grabbed, but couldn’t hold on. It popped up, and Bernard was in the perfect spot to grab the interception.
