Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Whatever Stefon Diggs' issues were during the offseason, he’s not only put them to rest with his words, but also with his play so far during training camp.

The Buffalo Bills wide receiver continued his terrific camp on Tuesday at St. John Fisher University.

Diggs is routinely the target of quarterback Josh Allen, as he has been in games for the past three seasons, and just as he has over that time, either finds a way to separate from the defense, or make a grab that looks like he won’t be able to.

But it's his route-running that continues to impress, as he enters his ninth NFL season.

LISTEN LIVE TO WGR:

During 1-on-1s on Tuesday, Diggs matched up against Tre'Davious White twice and beat the team's top cornerback both times. Of course, there’s a school of thought that you don’t want to see White getting beaten twice by anyone, but Diggs' precision route-running has made him virtually uncoverable since camp began.

Here's what else stood out from Tuesday's practice at Bills training camp:

The linebacker shuffle

The linebackers continued to move around to different spots with different groups on Tuesday.

Matt Milano and Tyrel Dodson started with the first group on the weakside and in the middle, respectively.

After that, initially, it was A.J. Klein in the middle with Terrel Bernard outside.

Dorian Williams got his chance to play the WILL with Baylon Spector in the middle.

While those were all generally the pairings, sometimes the groups after Milano/Dodson shuffled between the second and third units.

Cam can

Defensive back Cam Lewis, as he is every year, is fighting to make the roster as a depth defensive back and special teams player. He helped his cause a lot on Tuesday with a terrific breakup of a pass in 1-on-1s that earned the praise of defensive backs coach John Butler.

Then Lewis had a great hit on a catch-and-run during 11-on-11 that got the crowd's attention and energized the defense.

Bates vs. Torrence

At this point, it looks like there is a legitimate competition going on for the starting right guard spot.

Veteran Ryan Bates and rookie O'Cyrus Torrence both got first-team reps again on Tuesday.

McDermott away

Head coach Sean McDermott was not at practice at all on Tuesday, as he tended to a personal family matter. He was expected back later in the afternoon.

Eric Washington is the assistant head coach and assumes those duties when McDermott is not present.
