DJ Moore is holding onto optimism amid the Bears’ woeful start, but he knows things have to change – and quickly.

Chicago fell to 0-3 on Sunday after getting smacked 41-10 by the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The Bears weren’t exactly expected to be worldbeaters this season, but they’re off to a truly miserable start, and have lost each game by double digits.

The poor play is coming amid off-the-field distractions too, headlined by the cryptic departure of defensive coordinator Alan Williams, who reportedly resigned due to “inappropriate activity.”

“I wouldn’t say (we were) a distracted team, I can’t really tell you if we really executed as best as we can on both sides of the ball," Moore said Monday in his weekly appearance on the Mully & Haugh Show. "But some things have got to get changed, and they’ve got to get changed fast.”

The good news for the Bears is they’re facing a team in Week 4 that’s in an almost equally dire place, the Denver Broncos.

After canning head coach Nathaniel Hackett, his replacement, Sean Payton, has fared no better. The Broncos also sit at 0-3, and will roll into Soldier Field next week coming off an embarrassing 70-20 at the hands of the Miami Dolphins in which they surrendered over 700 yards.

If the Bears can get things right, Moore is hopeful wins will start snowballing.

"Everybody is chasing that first win," Moore said. "Once you get that first win, shoot, they start rolling in. Once you start losing, they start piling on and that can be a downer. But once you get that first win, everybody's confidence goes through the roof. So, I don't want to say losing confidence, but the confidence in just getting that first win is a major key."
