Opening Arguments In Rape Trial of Former Wilkes-Barre Police Officer

The trial of a former Wilkes-Barre Police Officer on rape charges has started at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Opening arguement were given Tuesday morning with Senior Deputy Attorney General Bernard Anderson telling  jurors that 55 year old Robert Collins used his position to take advantage of seven women. The Wright Township man is accused of a long list of charges including forcible rape to obstruction of justice. Collins' defense attorney says there are inconsistencies in the accounts of the women.

The trial in Luzerne County is expetced to last a week.
